Anatomy of a Tech-Priest Rebreather

A – Major and minor respiratory pipe lines and filtration systems. May be self contained or lead to external pipelines, which serve to fully seal the unit from the outer atmosphere. May recycle air and/or have a unit to fit an oxygen canister or something similiar.
B – metal plates to fix the rebreather in place and to help bear its weight.
C – metal (possibly plasteel or similiar?) mould to preserve the base of the integrity of the skull. Ensures the skull may be extracted for use as a servo-skull after the tech-priest’s death.
D – Vox-speaker
E – Digestive refinement unit and digestive mechadendrite connection point. May have purge lines attached to prevent flooding, whether from over stuffing of food or vomit. Would be designed to resist the corrosives of acids and foods.
F – Vox-synthesiser / synthetic vocal chords
G – Fine organic and metal weaving; integration point between flesh tissue and metal.

The S.O. told me that I have done more thinking about tech-priests in the last half hour than GW has done in the last twenty years. Help. Me.

YES gw conspicuously fails to address how augmetics go on which is weird because THAT’S VERY IMPORTANT

i like drawing faces, like, a lot.  my sketchbook just has all of these disembodied hairless heads from different angles.

anyway!  here is a face ref for one of diseonfire’s techpriests!  most of her face is going to be covered up by augmetics and stuff, but since i’m essentially doing this for practice i’m working out bone structure and features anyway. 😀

dark heresy character portraits series 1!  here we have rabhall the techpriest and venris iria the assassin.  next will be akkir salid-isaan the cleric and simo hans the scum.  (a note to the owners of these characters:  these are essentially rough drafts.  message me if you want me to change something.)
