I’m going to try my best to contribute to the Sororitas project.

These are just thumbnails, as I’m trying to get a look and feel.

I was a little derivative, I want them to be comparable to the Space Marines. I wanted them to still retain something of the same silhouette as the GW versions, so I gave them a chestplate and an underplate that would accentuate their bodies, enough to give them a more elegant figure (Is it too much?).

Tried a few different helmet ideas and some Terminator-esque units.

I also wanted to give them more interesting hair … because the old hair that they all had was killing me. Some of them can still have that hair.

Thoughts?

😀

here’s a design that’s radically different from what i came up with while still treating the sisters as badasses rather than barbie dolls.  i especially like the way it keeps to their original design while doing away with its more fetishistic elements.  i’m excited to see the finished product!

the breastplate is a strong visual, though the reason that design is never seen in real-life armor is because it allows too much space for a blade or arrow to slip underneath it.  however, such a design element is consistent with the pauldrons and could be ignored for the sake of stylization.  (even though i have a tendency to scrap such elements in my redesigns, armor flared out enough to be non-functional is seen in other factions with enough regularity that we could safely consider it a “warhammer 40k thing.”)

though acceptable as it is, it occurs to me that an easy fix for the pauldrons would be to lay them flat against the arms and weld an extra piece to the top to cover the shoulder.  in a similar way, an inward-facing piece could be welded to the bottom of the breastplate, and the former bottom edge kept as a flange.  i might have to draw that out, as there’s no guarantee the image in my head is getting across.

those termies, tho

i’m really liking those.  especially the ones whose helmets look like they have rhinoceros horns!  that’d make an awesome parallel to space marine terminator helmets since they’ve always reminded me of ancient megafauna.  heck, the chaos ones even have tusks!

also, i’m really digging the hairstyles, since the “battle bob” is actually really impractical, in terms of the amount of styling and maintenance you have to do to make it look like that.  (i used to have a similar hairstyle.)  the asymmetrical hairstyles especially are really cool.  now i’m imagining a sister with a mohawk.
